In the 90s I sometimes sported a goatee and at other times I had huge face fungus. My beard was black as black can be..Too many grey patches if I grew one nowadays.

I sported a stubble, but once while teaching, my boss asked me to shave it off as it looked unprofessional. Then afterwards I started working in the legal sphere, and it's more sensible to conform by shaving and keeping well-kempt. I can't say I mind either.
