Some artist decides to photograph the homeless as an addition to their portfolio. They pay the homeless 20 pounds each photo shoot. Is that morally a good thing or a bad thing to do? |

Just think,a pic of old John sleeping on a park bench in winter...toothless Mary waving her bottle of cider about . In monochrome! What a picture! The bottle of cider was paid for by the photographer! Is this concept acceptable to you? Would you visit a gallery showing these pix or buy a table top book of the pix?

What about paying heroin addicts 50 quid to take photos of them injecting? Morally wrong?

Id visit a gallery showing photos like that, yes and i would slip the homeless people a few quid. Better than going to some pretentious gallery claiming a canvas of blue with a stripe down the middle is worth millions!

You don't want to pay the people for their services? Would you steal a coat? @crail

I realise you don't need to pay to take pix in the street. I'm just thinking about the morality of the situation. Have you ever stolen anything? Not a sweet from the pic and mix or recorded a song from the radio..no royalties paid? |
