If the 'rules' still permit in a couple of weeks time,i should be able to safely take my mate out for a few afternoon drinks to celebrate her 75th in the safest,cleanest pub we can find,her first birthday alone since she lost her soulmate.before she has major surgery,and be home in time for britain's got talent n a takeaway.my partner disagrees.he will probably disagree right up to the moment it is one of his mates that needs a bit of tlc.at which point i will probably lose my sh*t.anyway,is it safe,do you reckon? Or am i being stubborn about this? |

But that was before we heard that the numbers were going back up and deaths around here were hardly happening anymore.as far as i know the deaths are still low but there is no disputing that the infection rate is high

I'd say visit your mate at her discretion and if she has one, drinks in her garden. I'd skip the pub bit for her sake. maybe have your takeaway with her earlier than planned. |

 the death figures are only low due to how the goverment record them now, they dont include the bigger picture.

Yeah that's sort of what he said.but her feeling is that at her age n in her current position she gets to be the judge of how much of her life to spend indoors,within reason.i am,with my bf,the only person she is allowing near her right now.my father said the same thing til recently,he met me twice n now he's playing it safer for a bit.but at nearly 80 he feels he has the right to choose,within reason

Wear your masks where applicable, wash your hands and try not to be in a crowd. Personally wouldn't risk it, but if your friend is OK with it then what else can you do.
