@ mikeymk - 15.01.20 - 10:36pm I find the clue is in the result. What is the result, and who does it benefit? Where are the aborigines? How many died, whilst you were all being distracted with dead animals..? Imagine a barren Australia with no wildlife.. |

What's Oz's problem is that the country (or continent) is very wide (longitudinally, as well as laterally), like North Africa, which has the largest hot desert, The Sahara. Australia has a similar problem with prolonged drought conditions. If there were a large lake in the centre, there would be less drought issues. Maybe man can pull out such a feat one day.. |

Well it's not really a fantasy, there's something similar in the works: DailyMail - Secret plan to flood coal mines and make giant artificial lakes to drought-proof Australia |

@ shadow27 - 12.01.20 - 05:26pm The arsonist thing is fake news, mate. And the reason it is so dry is because we are selling water off to the highest bidder. The whole thing is due to greed and an inability to put the environment first. The rivers ran dry, but the mining companies and cotton farms got all the water they wanted and more .. but I can't expect you to understand any of this. I remember watching a doc a few yrs ago about the concern (warnings really) about Australian rivers ... |

Those companies that contributed should be made to invest heavily in the recovery ... I read today that the Oz p.m is pledging to invest in getting tourism up and running asap ... |

Now we are getting dust storms well, NSW is. They probably deserve it. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that the east coast deserves a lot of the sh*t they have copped lately. I didn't vote for fu*king Scummo. |

@budgiesmuggler | 20 January 20
Got about 8 inches of rain over the last few days.. Such nice |

@shadow27 | 20 January 20
It's been raining here too, like it used to in winter. 3 or 4 days of steady rain. Fuucking weird. Must be triggered by all the smoke?

Never mind that 3 of our state's had damaging hail the size of golf balls yesterday. A little bit of flash flooding in some areas but last I heard there's still fires. Even if the fires are all out the clean up from hundreds of thousands of hail damaged cars and the devastation of the fires is draining us |
