@ recurve16 - 18.04.20 - 04:41am It's also killing young healthy white people by the thousands, obviously the elderly and ill will be hit hardest. You're the one who keeps going on about socio-economic status not me, I just agreed that poorer areas will have more vulnerable people. So regardless of socio-economics, age, race, health issues, if it isn't the virus putting 100 extra people in mass graves on that island, what is it ? By the thousands isn't a rate of mortality, it's meaningless without a denominator. Poorer areas will have more vulnerable people, but their chance of dying is linked to their biological make up not their wealth. Those 100 extra people are being put on that island because they are unclaimed. If they were claimed they wouldn't be on the island but they would still be dead. They're dead because of the virus. They're not on the island because of the virus. |

@ kimjongl - 18.04.20 - 04:34am Because more people are dying from a new disease that would have not died otherwise. Again, the above does not speak to the amount of deaths in relation to infection being high or low. 'MORE people are dying from a new disease' The fact they're burying 100 extra people per week on the island, sure sounds to me like related deaths are high rather than low. Anyhoo, we could go round in circles all night with this, it's 5am here and I'm ready to crash, so I'll leave ya to it. I don't know how many folk will have to die, or what the final numbers will have to be or how exactly they come to those numbers to make you happy. I personally just plan on riding it out as best I can, numbers that governments and media spout out doesn't really interest me. I just reckon this is gonna be around for a long time yet and the number of deaths we've seen so far is tiny... |

@ sisfreak2017 - 18.04.20 - 04:39am The virus has caused the morgues and funeral homes to be at capacity, hence the increased mass grave burials. There just isn't the room. Wouldn't be surprised if some are to be burried in Central Park, soon. Apparently public parks in America have already been suggested, but refused. It seems it's been done before in the past... |

'More' indicates an absolute figure. High or low is determined by rate. For you to assess whether 100 extra indigent deaths per week is high or low you would have to have a denominator to work with, which no one has at the moment. |

@ kimjongl - 18.04.20 - 01:46am Probably wouldn't take long considering how low the amount of deaths are at the moment. 'I just reckon this is gonna be around for a long time yet and the number of deaths we've seen so far is tiny...' |

Yes, that's good enough for me. Is it killing indiscriminately ? Yes, that's good enough for me. Are we ever gonna know exactly how it came about, who's fault it was, who tried to cover it up etc ? Probably not. Are politicians and other professionals gonna carry on being incompetent and letting it kill more than it should ? FVCK YEAH !!! |

@ kimjongl - 18.04.20 - 04:59am 'I just reckon this is gonna be around for a long time yet and the number of deaths we've seen so far is tiny...' Ok tiny maybe wasn't the best choice of word lol The amount of dead so far is far from tiny, but will pale compared to the final count, which we will probably never know exactly... |

100 is more than the usual 25. More or less is not the same as high or low. |
