@ eyesore - 12.04.20 - 07:46pm Individualism will always triumph over collectism. That's what socialists and communists never understood, moral indignation only goes so far up against human nature. |

@ recurve16 - 12.04.20 - 07:47pm So how about this... We let the world economy crash ? Cash becomes useless and we manage without it, we all know cashless is on its way, tech is taking over, like it or not. So here's a basic idea, I'll let you guys debate and fine tune the details OR just laugh it off. Universal wage on a card or an app on your phone, 3 or 4 bands, unemployed and ill, then workers levels depending on things like skills, experience, effort etc You pull your weight and be productive, you earn a better level on your card/app. The higher level you have the better lifestyle you can have, it covers your shopping, the occasional luxury, a car, holidays, hobbies etc. We still work, we still shop, we still travel, we still produce, trade, import, export etc And who manages this highly authoritarian, innovation killing, nanny state? |

I can't really get beyond that tbh . As for cash becoming useless. Who would want that, even if you got rid of it something would replace it. Every economy needs a black element |

Cash or money isn't becoming useless, what is meant by a cashless society is the physical notes and coins being stopped. The M1 to M4 money supply would still exist and monetary policy would still have to manage it the way it does now.

We have been living at the mercy of politicians, bankers, investers and countless other greedy bast*rds all our lives, the economy, billions in assets changing hands every day around the world, how much of that do you benefit from ? We get the country to work, we train, we produce, we trade and export, not for cash, but for other goods, a level playing field, every country given an equal chance to improve and flourish... |
||
@eyesore | 12 April 20 | |
I would be dead against that anyway like I said something else would replace it

Why should you benefit from any of those billion dollar transactions taking place? How you measure the value of the goods being traded? Some countries aren't going to be too happy trading their gold, diamonds and oil for potatoes and onions. |

Every economy needs a black element Its only cash, they only give you it so you can spend it back into the economy and on taxes, it's just a bit of paper that goes round in circulation, it's never really yours... |
