Its a 'if you have nothing to hide, why are you bothered situation. Most people aren't as anonymous online as they think anyway.

@ ogdenz - 19.10.21 - 07:53am Then again How can you prove who said what? E.g if I said something controversial and the cops turned up at the door how could they prove it was me that wrote the controversial thing? IP address and device ID |

Can they tell who exactly used the phone Mel?

they'd take a shot at saying it was the owner or anyone else with the ability to unlock it... your only defence is to screw over the people you live or work with (unless you make inflammatory comments from Tesco). |

I saw a docu on tv a year or so ago..24 hrs in police custody i think it was. A man was being interviewed 're a murder. The cops were saying it's you who used this phone..his phone. To every question he was asked he replied 'No comment. The upshot being they couldn't prove who had used his phone at a specific time. He was freed after the 24 hour grilling. |

I'm sure finger prints and a scan thru the browsing history would shine a light on who had the phone.

I am one of the few whose ID cards say, no image needed. And it is further hindered by a world full of people that look similar to me.
