I take it it's just Egypt as your only African country to date. Any luck ever visiting SA? I'd love visiting any of the Great Rift Valley Lakes. So cool |

@ ufohunter - 25.04.20 - 02:52pm Hey peta, ever been to Petra? It's way better than the Pyramids of Giza lol There's even horses and camels that you can use to fast-track through the mischievous canyons. |

I know the country like the back of my hand now so at some point Ill attempt to go again. Hotel, flights were all booked. fu*king KLM took 600 bucks from us for cancelation feel. Have you been then? |

@ peta - 25.04.20 - 03:53pm Had to cancel my Petra plans in January. I was soooo fu*king pissed. I know the country like the back of my hand now so at some point Ill attempt to go again. Hotel, flights were all booked. fu*king KLM took 600 bucks from us for cancelation feel. Have you been then? Yep, been to Jordan from North to South. Arrived at Queen Alia Intl. in Amman. (Weird airport though lol felt like arriving in the deserts of Iraq or summat). Travelled through the city (saw Gypsies from Turkey (Asia Minor) in their tents littering the main road bisecting the city). Visited Madaba nearby. Saw many Byzantine and Roman ruins and Mount Nebo which gives a great view of the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. This place is also cared for by Italian and Greek monks. Bought a few souvenirs. Bought Dead Sea mud from some store (which had beautiful Jordanian women ). Then hopped on the bus which took us to the highway straddling Jordan's entire western flank. Really felt like being in a warzone like that of Iraq. Stopped over at Wadi Musa at an open-plan hotel, Beit Zaman recommend that place. Heard the Adhan been played at a distance, echoing through the olive-lined valley of this pretty little village. (This place is nearby Petra.) Swam in the beautiful indoor pool. Ate lovely food.. Falafels Then next day visited Petra. That was something Took a camel. Bought a few souvenirs. Collected rock samples (I am an archaeologist.gif) Saw the main attraction, Al Khazneh - there's plenty of underground excavations still ongoing.. Last, hopped back on the bus and travelled to Aqaba in the northern reaches of the Aqaba Gulf of the Red Sea.. |

So I was planning in being in Amman for 3 days cause I wanted dog see the old theatre mainly. After arriving to their airport AMM. Then a full day trip to the Dead Sea. That was my highlight, floating and getting muddied. Then head south to Wadi Rum in a hotel 5 mins away from the Petra entrance. Was excited to do the whole Petra at Night on my last Monday there. Subsequently going along the trails to see the other ruins and stuff. The Jordanian pass would have covered visa fees and entrance fees for majority of their attractions and historical sites. Also thought about Wadi Rum hot balloon adventure or sleeping under the starts adventure. Hopefully I get to go soon, will compare notes with you. |
