I'm not talking about what happened after. I'm talking about the reason why he was even being arrested. Have you seen the body cam footage? Dude was clearly just drunk. They could've called him a cab or offered to drive him home themselves

@ trashy - 14.06.20 - 06:26pm Fair enough about the taser, but why was he even being arrested in the first place? He wasn't driving, he was sleeping it off. He offered to walk home. Up until he was arrested he was being cooperative, he wasn't aggressive or threatening. Being drunk isn't a crime, is it? From what I've read, he was drunk in charge of a vehicle and had fallen asleep at a drive thru. If he had accepted he was in the wrong, instead of resisting arrest, grabbing the cops tazer and pointing it at him, he would be in a cell right now sleeping it off. |

They could've called him a cab or offered to drive him home themselves I've seen the entire lead up. Even if we accept he was being wrongfully arrested that all changed due to HIS actions. That's not the way a civilized person reacts to being wrongfully arrested. His actions post facto are not justified by any wrong doing done to him pre facto. |

What I read was that he fell asleep in his car at a drive thru, a complaint was made the man was breath tested and then when they tried to arrest him for drink driving it kicked off , but they also said nothing about him firing it ....so |

What a twist that these protests have probably enabled him to start rallies again because they completely undermined the lockdown and more importantly had the media agreeing with them. Anyone who pearl clutches about the rallies now is going to look like an idiot after supporting the protests. |

Thanks for sharing. This gave me a lot more insight than I initially had. I presumed he was simply another garbage off of the streets seeing as he fired a tazer at a police officer, but clearly he's more of a drunk man who freaked out and ran, after a night of heavy drinking. That's fine and all, but he planned on driving home in a state of absolute drunkness. Statistically, drunk driving kills far more people in the United States than a white cop killing a black man unjustifiably. So they were right in presuming he would endanger the lives of others inspite of the warning they initially gave him. Any moral justifications he had beforehand were as kim said obliterated the moment he resisted arrest and fired at the police officer. The Police were justified in their actions both after and before the shooting. |
