@ 3mel - 8.06.21 - 08:14pm remember Concorde barely made any money, not sure something costing a lot more makes financial sense. I've heard there are currently plans afoot for a new supersonic passenger jet. Smaller than Concorde but faster. |

I reckon if some of us stop smoking or eating fat that we might get to see this...mind we more than likely drinking and pissing with a straw

@ obi_jon - 8.06.21 - 11:45pm I've heard there are currently plans afoot for a new supersonic passenger jet. It would be smaller and carry less passengers than Concorde did but would be faster. saw a video that mentioned more than a couple of million/billionaires have approached Antonov (I think) asking if they do a refit on one their cold war nuclear bombers. they wanted their own personal swing wing supersonic private jets. Antonov said http://youtu.be/voKPoJ-5EVw |

yeah I've seen videos on it too where people had to write notes to talk with the person sat next to them because the engine noise so loud.

Not sure this hasn't been mentioned but I remember reading of an idea to send aircraft up to the edge of space, get them to more or less hover up there and then rely on the earth's rotation to do the moving..when the time comes just drop back down into the atmosphere above your desired destination.

@ ogdenz - 9.06.21 - 03:02pm Not sure this hasn't been mentioned but I remember reading of an idea to send aircraft up to the edge of space, get them to more or less hover up there and then rely on the earth's rotation to do the moving..when the time comes just drop back down into the atmosphere above your desired destination. I've found myself wondering if a flight from America to Australia has a different duration than the return journey. the earth's rotation has got to working with you and against on the different legs of a return trip depending on the flight path. |
