its stupid because they say its 2015 in OZ already. last time i checked the new year was when the earth orbits the sun. you know, right the way around. it makes no difference if the sun rises in OZ first, the earth is still occupying the same space in its orbit around the sun, so really, the new year will be everywhere simultaneously once the earth completes the orbit. |

@guyver | 31 December 14 | |
regardless who sees 12:00am first, the earth is still occupying the same position in space. thank me later |

im right. australia doesnt go around the sun first, and it doesnt matter if the earth span the opposite way around, we are all on this rock, the entire rock is going around the sun, so when it reaches 'point x' in its orbit, its the new year, regardless of your location. |

if you were on a sinking ship and 3/4 of the ship was underwater, but you just happened to be on the bit that wasnt, you wouldnt say the ship was fine. you are on a sinking ship regardless if you are on the sunken part or not. same with the earth in space. its new year everywhere not just OZ, the same way its a sinking ship everywhere regardless if you are on the sunk bit |
