The UK's latest daily death toll was higher than both Italy and Spain's were at their peak, thankfully daily death tolls there seem to be slowly dropping in numbers now.

If it plays out in the UK the same as we've seen happen elsewhere, we're on course to be the worst effected european country of all in terms of overall deaths. |

@ tranie - 11.04.20 - 09:17pm In London its mostly immigrants flaunting the rules. Africans don't believe it applies to them. Asians and turks don't seem to understand the stay at home rule either. Plenty of ppl still walking about even at this time. There is emerging evidence to suggest coronavirus is having a disproportionate impact on people who are black, Asian and minority ethnic. Research suggests that more than a third of patients who are critically ill in hospital with the virus are from these backgrounds. It comes after Labour called for an urgent investigation into why these communities are more vulnerable. Only 14 percent of people in England and Wales are from ethnic minority backgrounds, according to the 2011 census. However, the Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre found that 34 percent of more than 3,000 critically ill coronavirus patients identified as black, Asian or minority ethnic. Maybe Labour should take a ride on Tranie's bus for an answer. We've got the same problem up here in our Roma ghetto, still got crowds of them hanging around street corners... |

So if 34 percent of the population together are black, Asian and what other minority are you mentioning? If that 34 percent together are those listed minorities, then what is the make up of the remaining population of 66? |

@ musho77 - 12.04.20 - 11:28am why is it worse in america ? is it to do with temperature ? i emailed raab and his bunch and had no reply 6 weeks i been saying how to stop it We have the same season as Europe at the moment. I think it has to do with a few things like; dense population like NYC for instance. There are 10 million ppl in this city only, not the state- just the city. A lot of ppl, small spaces, ppl not adhering to social distancing laws. Availability of tests too - and ppl in hot spots coming out and getting tested. I also think that some countries are under reporting. China definitely has underreported Covid cases as well as deaths due to Covid. |
