I battle with the thought that I came from a monkey when clearly monkeys that we see today haven't shown any signs of evolving at possible. although I think the bible has far fetched stories,I do believe that the writers were on to something.what do you think? |

evolution has more than one theory...

Don't lose sleep on it, you're not a monkey now so why does it bother you so much?

@tokage but the main premise of all those theories is that we were once animals

we are still animals (mammals just like other mammals.) the monkey thing is often used by religious fundamentalists in a failed attempt at mocking evolution, when the truth is they don't have the patience or ability to explore the complexities of evolution.

yes i agree with you but why are we the only ones in the animal kingdom that evolved?

we aren't the only ones that evolved, or are still evolving for that matter.

theory of evolution doesn't state that you yourself are evolved from a monkey. try to think instead of you and the monkey as having once shared a common ancestor who is no longer present. in fact all life on earth is related in such ways. the fruits of the tree of life are visible to us, but there are many things we do not see.. extinct lines, dead ends, missing links.

i don't think it's right to dismiss people who disagree with evolutionary theory.. it's better to find clearer and more varied ways of explaining it.
