I have one question though,if it is very hot like it is in the uk at the moment, are you allowed to drink water during the daylight hours or is it strictly no drink.I also heard that some people can get exemptions from ramadan?

Thank you didgy.... to answer ur question, no not allowed to drink @ all... yes there are some ppl that r exemp but depends on their reasons, eg a pregnant or breat feeding woman doesnt have to keep the fast if she cannot manage however she has to make up the fasts @ a later stage.

Those totally exempt r the very elderly or those that have certain illnesses that could become worse thru fasting, in those instances they pay fidya, kinda like a tax for the month of fasting. and Allah knows best.
