I'm not religious at all but I'm finding that people who call themselves atheists are sometimes as extreme about not believing as those in religious groups, to the point of violence sometimes. Is this really the way forward? Why can't everyone just respect each others beliefs, or lack of them? What's everyone's thoughts on this? |

Personally I consider myself Agnostic as the word itself means I don't know. I'm happy not knowing it lets me think more critically and be open minded :) People have been doing horrible things to each other based on their beliefs for thousands of years it seems so pointless. |

@ propidol - 9.09.15 - 06:22pm Athiests back when? Theres allways been atheists who believe theres nothing afterward especially no God. Stalin was a atheist who happened to read darwins book look what that ended up to be. |

Read Darwins book? Which one? If Darwin had such an effect on Stalin, why was he proponent of Lysenkoism? Do you think a book had more of an effect on Stalin's character than his 6 years at church school, or his 5 years as a seminarian?

Stalin lost his faith when he read the book and took it seriously not like many who still live by the commandments from the bible he actually believed there is no consequence.

Raised in the Georgian Orthodox faith, Stalin became an atheist. His government promoted atheism through special atheistic education in schools, anti-religious propaganda, the anti-religious work of public institutions (Society of the Godless), discriminatory laws, and a terror campaign against religious believers. By the late 1930s, it had become dangerous to be publicly associated with religion.[103] Wikipedia |
