Its hard to gauge how kids will turn out. Leeds destroyed Beckham Scholes etc in the 93 Youth Cup but the only player who had any meaningful career was Noel Whelan

@ baz6 - 26.09.13 - 08:15pm Ryan Gauld and John Souttar both being watched by the likes of Man City,United,Spurs to name a few. Gauld at 17 and Souttar just turned 17 on Wednesday have made Big waves since breaking into Dundee United's first team last season and have carried that into this season. The tannadice youth scheme is producing some quality players again, but I'm struggling to think when last any of the aforementioned English clubs last did so. Yes they have bought young players in, but who have they actually brought through themselves in the last decade? I'm sure I'll be proven wrong in here, so let the ripping begin We're linked with Souttar. Sounds like a Martinez type of player. |

Just announced the night that Gauld, Souttar, Petrie and Spark have signed extensions until May 2016 ste. Bit of security for the club, and sensible from such young boys imo |

We signed Matthew Kennedy as a 17 year old who was playing in the Killie first team at the time but he hasn't had any time at all for our 1st team 2 years on although he is one of the top players for our under 21s, hard to say whether he'd be better off at Killie given how they play football but maybe he could do with a loan at a team like Motherwell or yourselves. Contract don't mean much other then you can guarentee a fair price for him. Makes sense to tie him up.

@ 4juice - 27.09.13 - 10:31am Southampton produced players like Walcott, Gareth Bale, Ox Chamberlain and upcoming ones like luke shaw and james posse. Liverpool with Rahim Sterling, john flanagon amd wisdom. Chelsea got plenty upcoming players like Chalobah, McEachran, Ryan Betrand... Southampton did find a loophole with youth, you are only allowed to sign players within a certain radius under a certain age. but they used the fact of been on the coast |
