You have mentioned very little about the specs of each laptop. Obviously the faster CPU is better, RAM can be upgraded for relatively little cost.

3317U + 8GB or 3210M + 4GB? Its easier and cheaper to change the memory later if you think it isn't enough. Has to be the one with the better CPU, and if I decided I wanted more memory, I would just change it myself. Best upgrade for your average computer = SSD anyway.

avoid a u-series cpu unless you want a ultra slim lappy. the u-s are half the speed the normal i5s i7s in lappys.

yes alvar89 I noticed currys are selling laptops with core i5 U series processors, surprisingly with 16gb of ram! (so it seems the 8gb barrier with mainstream laptops has now been broken) I guess the extra ram helps to make up for the lack lustre speed of the U series cpu to some degree.
