@ psnality - 1.08.15 - 02:28pm After you update it's best to do a disk cleanup to get rid of the old windows files, it doesn't get rid of the Windows WS folder though but the BT and Windows.old it deletes easily after updating with the tool I was left with both the BT from reserved download and WS from tool download. Think have to wait a while for updates as tablet mode still not working or any windows apps on my windows 10, that's what I get for being impatient but it could have been weeks. Anyways have my shiny new Windows 10 licence after updating. After you upgrade its best to do a clean install .tests prove it runs faster takes up less space even after you have cleaned the junk left behind and is all together a smother experience as it has always been with every windows os . |

@ mok214 - 2.08.15 - 04:02am That is not a secure link, so it is probably to a hacked version. I agree. The site looks extremely dodgy. Even the download links are trying to look like Cnet links. Expect to be a part of a botnet if you download from there. This is an OS, and things can be modified at the core where no AV will pick up the changes. Only download an OS from official/trusted sources. |

Just realised that the technet key someone gave me and I used on 8.1 has upgraded to a full proper Win 10 licence.

I'm not one that overly concerns myself with privacy EULAs but the one on Win 10 is of major concern to me. Basically Microsoft can look at ANYTHING on your Windows 10 machine if they feel it is 'necessary.' Problem is, what is their definition of necessary? Sure, if it for major criminal investigations or whatever, but it would be a major breach of privacy for anything less than that really. It's obvious how they are monetising this, the same way every other joined site does by selling off your information. It's one thing chosing to use a website and disclose a ton of personal info on it, another having an OS that is one big giant software snoop running your entire machine. |

Does a clean install delete D drive as well as C?. I Have a D partition in my HDD and don't want to delete that too, I have C backed up. |

After upgrading it gave me a key, then I did the reset that completely deleted all c drive so had to use a friend's computer to make a bootable usb with windows 10 and then reinstall it and then after connected to Internet it found out I had registered with Windows 10 so was activated again so don't need to a type in a key again. computer then just had to restore the files from file history. Everything is working correctly now though as well as tablet mode and it boots up no problem |
