@ mok214 - 7.04.16 - 04:51pm Note to self: When you start building a new computer, buy the solid state drive first. Yeah get an SSD and be wowed at the read and write speeds you can get. |

i gave into the hype and bought a rapsberry pi 3 last week. I tried to install it into my mediapi case it fitted ok no surprise as the board is the same size and shape as the pi 2. Only problems i had was for some reason my external hard drive was draining the power from the pi 3 and i couldnt watch anything on my kodi. The hd is powered, seperately also the audio jack wouldnt output the sound to my sound bar, i have ordered a wolfson hifi digi plus optical spdif card from ebay to try and sort that problem out.

maybe connect the HD to a powered USB hub first if you have one (he said in total wild speculation).

@ 3mel - 18.04.16 - 03:34pm maybe connect the HD to a powered USB hub first if you have one (he said in total wild speculation). tried that, it shouldnt need that anyway as the hd is powered already. Think it must have something to do with the meadiapi's ready made circutry it only promised to be compatible for pi 2 not 3 think i may use the 3 for my server and retire the raspberry pi b plus and keep using the 2 for kodi, it does a decent enough job |

I've bought myself a sense hat for my RPi B+ That's been sitting around for a while. It's got a 8x8 matrix full colour led display. A gyro sensor for detecting movement on three axis. An air pressure sensor, humidity sensor, temperature sensor and a joystick control. It costs about 33 GBP.
