@ sisfreak2017 - 5.01.23 - 05:09am What are all these big specs required for. Is it for running gaming or video editing etc. I think the most I've ever noticed the system using was about 10/11 GB I wasn't doing any special. Perhaps using some office apps and it was updating. I don't do gaming ! I'd rather sh*g my wife than Buck Rogers. Mostly gaming. Like to tinker with clocks also thats why i get a overclockable setup usually. They last longer too in terms of performance. I remember when i bought my first i7 and ppl were saying all you need is a i5. In the later years i could still run certain games smoother thanks to the hyperthreading it had over an i5. You can do both sh*g and game tho Its not like one cancels out the other. |

For me gaming ,video / photo editing and 3d modelling the later which is extremely demanding on any system and the reason I was going to upgrade . But rather than spend 2k on a graphics card I have bought a Mac studio which is insanely fast and uses a fraction of the power and has a better resale value in the future . |

Installed the thermalright contact frame today. Did tests before and after. It did drop a few degrees but also for some reason it saw an oppurtunity to boost up somewhere. It did also bring up the score 500p in cb23 going in loops. It is a consistent 500p and it uses a few less watts also in getting it. Same settings but still some variety. Overall the core temps are much more consistent now than before. All the e cores run basically the same temp also. Easier on those because there more grammed together. Seems like it was a worthwhile investment especially because the thermalright frame is alot cheaper than the grizzly one. Gamers nexus showed that the frames have the same outcome anyway.

Yeah it worked wonders for my system . They are all the same and even the cheap copies on Amazon are just as good and do the job.

The fan in my tablet is a nuisance at times. When it comes on during a Teams meeting they all think I'm blending stuff. It would be handy to not have to resort to using a headset. |

Thats what you get for wanting a computer in a slim form factor. I avoid anything that is low powered and has no proper cooling. Just a good smarphone on the go and a desktop at home.

Tried the deepcool paste that came with the cooler and also my arctic mx4. all have the same temps to my suprise. maybe my mx 4 is too old have it for 5 years in the drawer. does work all the time tho. |

Just a good smarphone on the go and a desktop at home. It has to be a windows PC for work. The tablets ok and has i5 n 8gb ram, its just when the fan kicks in. I shall just keep the headset in the backpack and forget about teams using built-in mic. |

Got the arctic freezer II 420 today. Got my temps down another 10c. Plus it takes the heat away from other components bringing down ram, gpu, vrm and the nvme temps. Now i can get all core 5.5ghz even with the e cores enabled and still wont thermal throttle in cb23. Got a 31300p score also. Dialed in a 200w power limit and set it to 5.2ghz all core for daily use. Dont need the maximum just a few notches below is good enough. Dont see the temps go over 76c on this low clocks. Would hit 80c with 5.3ghz all core. That would be fine also tho.
