880mhz on the core, 2000 on the shaders, and standad 8800GT cooling? i dont think he knows what he is doing. that kind of speeds would cook the card quickly, theres just no way standard cooling would cope with those speeds. it will be well over 100 degrees load without a shadow of a doubt, the risk of damage to the card is very high.

720/1750/2000 is about the limit realistically on standard GT cooling. so 880 is miles too high, theres just no doubt. the card isnt a zotac or gainward GLH with modified cooling either because stock clocks are shown on GPUZ. the gainward might be able to do those speeds safely, the zotac would be close maybe, but not a standard part.

i cant find the gainward anywhere. plus its expensive. its the best and fastest 8800GT. gainward rock. so i settled for the second best GT, a zotac. managed to find one too, better than waiting lol

even a gainward 880 core would be pushin it , even on water ,

the GLH has a dual slot cooler. runs 700/1750/2025. the zotac has a modified single slot much bettter than standard runs 700/1700/2000. the gainward is about 20 pounds more and impossible to find anywhere, and price straying into GTS territory. so i settled for the zotac

ive decided not to upgrade yet, just get another 2gb ram , my rig plenty fast enough for now, gonna wait few months, an when i do upgrade id only buy a gainward , even tho there pricey, dont know alot bout zotac

zotac are quite new to the game. so they are out to impress. im impressed. only the gainward GLH 8800Gt is faster, and its quite a bit more expensive. the zotac is the better buy really. the BOTTOM zotac costs as much as all the other brands bog parts, but it runs 660 on the core. it comes with an overclock and modded cooler as standard. for the same money as all the XFX, EVGA, BFG parts etc
