In August 1979, artist and sculptor Kit Williams buried a fabulous jewelled golden hare amulet somewhere in Britain. His book 'Masquerade' was published a month later. The incredibly complex and detailed paintings and the childrens story in the book revealed the secret of the location of the golden hare, waiting in the earth for whoever could find it - or eternity! Britain went Masquerade crazy! The treasure was eventally unearthed in March 1982. Here is the story of Masquerade and the quest for the golden hare, together with the original pictures from the book and other images. If anyone remembers anything about Masquerade, or the cheating scandal which followed, I'd be interested in hearing from you. Feel free to use the group forum.
