Since i have both old and new 3DS' (and wear glasses) i can say that 3D on old machines is bad and it causes slowdown in some games. Seriously it looks like s**t. |

On a ''NEW'' 3DS it looks more decent tho. However some games don't even use 3D.

On NEW 3DS, you can calibrate face tracking that improves 3D quality. Also the slider can click in place unlike the ''free'' slider on OLD 3DS. You can thus use it in the lowest setting with a semi-decent 3D Effect that doesn't immediately make you cross-eyed.

3D requires extra processing power so expect slowdown and framedropping in games when using it. And as usual... NEW 3DS does it better as it has more horsepower under the hood.
