Was chatting about the railway's that run through ur mountain ranges with another member here, last week. What i didnt ask was whether they have tunnels on the routes through them to safeguard against possible land and mud slides/ avalanches?

Yes, IR Has many railway tunnel.... India is one & only sub-continent, where you can see all the physical featurers in different parts of the country so tunnels are important if railway is spread every where in India.
