But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, self-control: against such there is no law. Galatians5:22-23. If you look carefully, the word Spirit has a capital letter 'S' there, but the greek language did not have punctuations and capital letters. The punctuation and capital letters were put there at the pleasure of translaters who wanted the sentences to have a meaning to the English reader. The spirit that Paul is refering to in that discourse is not Gods Spirit, but your reborn spirit. The Spirit of God did not come to l*st against the flesh. He has come to impart a desire to your spirit that is contrary to your flesh. He did not come to produce love, joy, etc. He is love, He is joy, etc. He came to help your reborn spirit produce love, joy, peace, etc. Another vitally important thing one MUST know is that all those forces of the reborn spirit (Love, joy, peace, etc) are ALREADY residing in him, if hes made Jesus the Lord of his life. You dont get born again and after that ask God to give you love, joy, peace, patience, etc. No!! All those forces are already in you! How? And hope maketh not ashamed; becouse the love of God is SHED abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is GIVEN unto us. Romans5:5. If you are confident that the Holy Spirit is in you, then love is in you and love encompasses all of these forces of your reborn spirit. Why then, are so many christians not exhibiting these forces in their lifestyles? It is not that these forces are not present, it is becouse people dont yield to them. Its a matter of a choice! Another thing is that these forces need to be developed by constantly yielding or practicing in challenging cir tances.
