My acer 8400 travelmate was working well till it went on hibanation. I connected the power cable and on switching on it requested for a bios password. Its using the phoenix bios and i had not set any password since i bought it. Is there a way i can bypass or reset the password? Please help |

Try removing the CMOS battery and live it out for atleast 8minutes, them put it back in . . . . .Good luck.

Cmos on a laptop. Do you have warranty on it? First try to flood the keyboard buffer by holding a key then starting it up keep it in even if you get the sound see if pc reboot and resets it. Otherwise

Try phoenix PHOENIX CMOS BIOS Also try removing hdd during boot this has been know to reset the password. Then you could look for a bios upgrade aswell. For flooding the keyboard buffer do following ignore above post one. Wait for password prompt and keep escape key pressed in or keep pressing it |
