Three travellers are on a journey. They stop to rest for the night. The 1st one has 5 loaves, the 2nd has 3 loaves and the 3rd has 8 coins. They agree that he could have an equal share of the bread for all his coins. The 2nd traveller wants to take 3 coins, and give 5 to the 1st one. However, traveller one says: No, I should get ore than that. Who is correct? |

The second traveler only gave away a third of a loaf whereas first gave away 2 and 2 thirds loaves so he entitled to 7 coins
