NBC's superhero drama picking up a pair of comic-loving characters to be played by Seth Green, Breckin Meyer.
Heroes fans: It looks like the show's superpowered characters will face something they've never faced before--a Robot Chicken! Or at least a few of the guys who work on a show called Robot Chicken.

EW.com is reporting that Seth Green and Breckin Meyer will be joining the NBC hit for a multi-episode arc in which they play comic-book fans that meet up with one of the show's heroes in Atlanta.

Green is well known among movie and television buffs for his roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Family Guy, and the two Austin Powers sequels. He's also one of the creators of Adult Swim's Robot Chicken, which spoofs just about everything in claymation. Meyer got his break playing the Spicoli-esque skater Travis in Clueless, and has since done voice work for King of the Hill and Robot Chicken.

It's unclear at what point the duo--should they agree to contracts--join the show, but casting the affable off-screen buddies seems to indicate that Heroes will retain its light-hearted tone seen in the season three premiere.

Heroes returns to NBC on September 22.
