Jesus started one true Christian religion. So today there must be just one body, or group of true worshipers. (John 4:23,24; Eph 4:4,5) The bible teaches that only a few people are on the narrow road to life. -Matthew 7:13,14

The bible foretold that after the death of the apostles, wrong teachings and unchristian practices would slowly come into the Christian congregation. Men would draw away believers to follow them instead of Christ.(Matt 7:15, 21-23; Acts 20:29,30)That is why we see so many different religions that claim to be Christian. The question now is: How can we identify true Christians?

There are many features of true Christianity but let's just examine 5 of these features. The most outstanding mark of true Christians is that they have real LOVE AMONG THEMSELVES.-(John 13:34,35) They are not taught to think that they are better than people of other races or skin color. Neither are they taught to have people from other countries.(Acts 10:34,35) So they do not share in wars. They refuse military service.True Christians treat one another as brothers and sisters. (1John 4:20,21) |

Another mark of true religion is that its members have a DEEP RESPECT FOR THE BIBLE. They accept it as the Word of God and believe what it says.(John 17:17; 2Ti 3:16,17) They treat God's Word as being more important than human ideas or customs.(Matt 15:1-3, 7-9) They try to live by the Bible in their everyday life. So they do not preach one thing and then practice another. (Titus 1:15,16) The true religion encourages its members to read, study, meditate and apply God's Word daily. (Joshua 1:8)

The true religion must also HONOR GOD'S NAME(Matt 6:9). Psalm 83:18 says: That people may know that you whose name is Jehovah, you alone are the Most High over all the earth.' Jesus, the Son of God, made God's name Jehovah known to others.True Christians must do the same.(John 17:6, 26; Ro 10:13,14) What religious group in your community tells others about God's name? If someone talked to you about God's name, Jehovah, with what religion would you associate him? |

True Christians must PREACH ABOUT GOD'S KINGDOM. Jesus did so. He always talked about the Kingdom.(Luke 8:1) He commanded his disciples to preach this same message in all the earth. (Matthew 24:14; 28:19,20) True Christians believe that only God's Kingdom will bring true peace and security to this earth. -Psalm 146:3-5; 37:10,11 Is there any religion in your community which diligently tells the good news of the Kingdom to others in a regular basis? Do the members of that religion preach from house to house like what the early Christians did?(Acts 5:42) Can you identify that religion? |

Jesus' disciples must be NO PART OF THIS WORLD. (John 17:16) When on trial before the Roman rules Pilate, Jesus said: 'My kingdom is no part of this world. (John 18:36) So, Jesus' followers do not get involved in the world's political affairs and social controversies. True Christians do not interfere with what others choose to do about joining political party, running for office, or voting. And while God's true worshippers are neutral in politics, they are law-abiding.They avoid the harmful conduct, practices, and attitudes that are common in the world. (James 1:27; 4:4) Can you indetify a religious group in your community that has these marks of true Christianity? |

First of all, consider your own religion. Here are some thought-provoking questions that may help you to know whether your religion is the right one or not: ASK YOURSELF: Does my religion encourage its members to parti te in warfare? Are there soldiers in my religion?if your answer is YES then your religion fails to be in line with Mat 5:44; 26:52 and 1Joh 3:10-12 |

ASK YOURSELF: Does my religion follow Jesus' example and avoid becoming involved in politics, even if that means that its members will be hated by some politicians? if your answer is NO then your religion does not observe the principles in John 6:15, John 18:36 and John 17:14

QUESTION: Does my religion teach and sanctify God's name 'JEHOVAH'? (Ps 83:18, Matt 6:9) Does my religion obey Jesus' command to preach the good news of the kingdom? (Matt. 24:14, 28:18,19, Ac. 1:8) if your answer is NO then your religion does not obey the scriptural commands given above. |

Does my religion teach that Jesus is the Son of God? That He is a separate individual or distinct from the Father? That He is subject to the Father? if you answer NO then consider what the bible really teaches about this matter: pls read John 20:31, John 17:3, 1Cor. 11:3

If your religion fails to comply with the standards of true Christianity as outlined in the Bible, then, it is the time to investigate further and deeper. Whatever ppl have told you, the truth can be found... in the Bible itself. I encourage you to find time to sit, pray, then read your Bible with an open mind, and meditate... Consider the features of the true Christianity... and do your best to find 'it'. Eventually, 'the truth will set you free'.

Many say the Apos died in Jesus time. Should we still have Apostles?

Yeah your right. The last Apostle was John. He died probably in the year 100 ce. After his death, apostasy crept into the congregation. During that era onwards, many Christian sects arose. That's why apostle John admonished the early Christians to test every teaching whether it originate with God. (1John 4:1) Therefore, if we want to know the true Christianity, we have to learn the teachings of the 1st century Christians. (33 ce - 100 ce) |

As for your question, no, we don't need apostles anymore. The purpose of the apostles has been fulfilled. What was the purpose? In Eph 2:20, we may know that the apostles were part of the Christian foundation. The congregation was strongly established in 33 ce. Thus the 12 apostles have no successors. They will always remain as the foundation of Christianity... And Jesus Christ, himself is the main cornerstone.
