A man throws a lifeline at the one who is drowning. They take hold of it. And are pulled to safety and are saved. The lifeline is a saving instrument. So it is their saviour... Provided by the one who uses it to rescue them. Thereby he is their saviour in doing so. Jehovah is saviour by sending His Son. Jesus is saviour by obeying his Father and giving up his life to save.
