Actually the ''depth'' of speaking depends on the characters. The schoolboy and schoolgirl japanese is simpler so even i can understand most of what they say and can tell that the editor has spiced up the dialogue here and there with their own american stuff (well, it is better than british cr*p anyway). Anywho i understand bits here and bits there in the japanese dialogue.

Also you won't understand much at all in UNIB2 if you haven't done 1 first. Most everything will fly past you and the experience will most likely feel shallow or something... The fighting itself is more or less the same with little tweaks here and there. But storywise doing 1 first is mandatory.
