Recipes Home : Desserts:Gajjar Halwa RecipeGAJAR KA HALWA RECIPEIngredients for carrot halva:1 kg Carrots1 litre Milk1 teaspoon Cardamom seeds3/4 cup Water3 tablespoons Ghee2 tablespoons Raisins2 tablespoons Almonds2 tablespoons Pistachios450 grams SugarPreparation of carrot halwa :Wash and grate the carrots.Soak the raisins in water for30 minutes. Blanch and shredthe nuts.Put the water to boil, when itstarts boiling add the gratedcarrots. Cook for 5-7 minutes.Add the milk. Cook on a lowflame for 1 hour stirringoccasionally. Add sugar, mixwell and cook till the sugar hasdissolved and all the milk hasbeen absorbed.Add ghee and simmer for 2-3minutes. Add the slightlycrushed cardamoms and theraisins. Mix well.Remove the gajjar halwa fromheat and arrange in a servingdish. Garnish with almondsand pistachios. Serve cold, hotor at room temperature.
